NRC Research Associateship Programs
http://sites.nationalacademies.org/pga/rap/.
From their webpage: "The NRC Research Associateship Programs (RAP) promote excellence in scientific and technological research conducted by the U.S. government through the administration of programs offering graduate, postdoctoral, and senior level research opportunities at sponsoring federal laboratories and affiliated institutions."
Some, but not all, of these agencies provide support for senior researchers (i.e., faculty).
Several deadlines throughout the year (approximately once every 3 months),
beginning with February 1.
