<li> Random walks that head up from campus to Grizzly
Peak Blvd (north side); for example take La Loma Avenue
and then Glendale Avenue, to the Glendale Path...just keep
heading uphill...
<li> Stonewall Panoramic Trail and then whatever, starting
from the Claremont Hotel, and then continuing
to above Strawberry Canyon (and perhaps down into Berkeley)

<li> Peets Coffee next to the Claremont Hotel on a weekend
(everyone brings their dogs)

<li> The Wine Country. Auberge du Soleil in Napa Valley is
great for lunch -  
make sure you sit outside
<li> Muir Woods. But enter it from above, and hike down
into Muir Woods and then back up. 
<li> Carmel by the Sea - go to the south end of the bay
(try to go when it's not busy)
<li> Point Lobos (try to go when it's not busy)
